Learning my Lesson?

{ Life }

June 3, 2005

There’s a lesson I never learn. The answer to “should I bring my camera with me?” is always, always “yes.” Ignoring this tenet was frustrating last night, when this happened. Obviously I didn’t take that photograph, because I was busy standing on a street corner in the Pearl District hating myself for not bringing my camera. This morning between Sydney [the dog] moments and cat insanity I thought:

“Should I bring my camera today? It looks like it could get sunny.”

Stop and think about what I should do in this situation. Of course, I left without my camera. It’s silky-beautiful out, with greens like only May at 45-degrees latitude can bring you. I had to physically come to work today, something I don’t normally have to do on Fridays, but it was like driving through a watercolor smear. Lush.
