Local kid gets Linus

{ Life }

June 17, 2005

I thought this was kind of a kick. A local kid solicited Linus Torvalds for an interview (he lives around here) and was successful where lots of other media weren’t.

The results at Riverdale High School’s site.

I’d like to mention, however, that Riverdale district, albeit nominally public, is in an extremely privileged part of town and has, well, facilities that make schools in my own neighborhood look like a combination between prisons and crack houses. True, I live in the hood, but still, the local schools have to entreaty the neighborhood citizens to mow the lawns, otherwise they turn into knee-high weeds. Sigh.
