Photography: Top 5 Things I Hate about Flickr

1. HDR
2. Photos that aren’t photos
3. Photos with drippy poetry (oh, GOD, that’s awesome “Oh, malachite, so shiny, so bright \ Glimmering in the morning light”) or meaningless aphorisms on them or near them.
4. Narcissistic, pseudo-emotional self-portraits, almost all females. This isn’t LiveJournal, kids.
5. The lack of any meaningful criticism. I can’t count the number of times that I’ve wanted to leave comments like “Fix that crop, the whole horizon is crooked”, or “It has a cyan cast, might want to correct for that” or “take that unsharp mask down several hundred notches.”

    At least with the HDR stuff it is artistic… not just poop.
