Books: The Remains of the Day, Kazuo Ishiguro

Nice. I “had” to read this book for a book club I’m joining, but it went down nice and easy. Main characters show complexity and humanity. A warning that this book is not excessively plot-driven, but neither is it ponderously dull. It piqued my interest especially because I have a fascination with the “below stairs” service culture of England from about 1700-1910 (roughly through the Edwardian era) and this book covers the post-war 1940′s demise of said culture.
