Please, Netflix, Don't do this to Me

Oh, dear, dear Netflix, ye of gentle customer service and awesome Web site that works right.

Netflix is launching a streaming movie service for its customers. That’s the good part.

The bad part is that it requires MS Windows, which is not going to happen in this house except over my cold, dead body.

So, are they telling us Mac-heads to stuff it? There doesn’t seem to be a lot out there (immediately available at least) where folks like me are railing bitterly against this decision. I can only hope it’s temporary and soon I’ll be able to continue my homage to Steve Jobs by streaming movies from Netflix. It doesn’t hurt to dream.

What do you think? Am I being typically over-sensitive about this?

i don’t think you need to worry:

“Over the coming years we’ll expand our selection of films, and we’ll work to get to every Internet-connected screen, from cell phones to PCs to plasma screens. The PC screen is the best Internet-connected screen today, so we are starting there. “

    starting, not finishing.

The primary reason that Netflix is not supporting Macs is that other than drop shadows and anti-aliasing, Macs can’t actually do anything.

    Let the flaming begin!
