Waiting in Trepidation

{ Life }

January 16, 2007

The first thing I noticed this morning was not, alas, the surreal once-a-year-or-so snowfall that had covered the world a few inches deep and quiet, but the chain-lightning flashes in my eyes and an inability to see straight ahead–classic signs of an impending, crippling migraine. I am sitting at home trying to keep an eye on work now, waiting for what might be inevitable.

I’m also out of migraine medication and will have to send my poor husband as a snow envoy up a mile or so into the heart of the silent neighborhood to visit my mother and request some of hers.

Wish me the best.

    Ouch. I hope it doesn’t last long.

    I read “The Road” last night in one sitting. Very good. Thx.

    The dreaded ocular migraine. The first time I had one of these I think I was eleven. It’s hard to explain these to people, only other suffers truly understand how debilitating and scary these things are. The worst is when they come on while driving; you basically have about ten minutes to get somewhere safe before your vision is shot. Anyway, I hope feel better.
