The Dreadful-Fabulous NBH Building at Twilight

{ PDX, Photography }

January 31, 2007

I carried a camera yesterday on my walk to and from work. I took a small grip of photos, but this one was my favorite.

The NBH building is a few blocks from my house, in an area dominated by light industry and produce-packing warehouses.

It was clearly built or otherwise overhauled in the 80s, when creating an entire building of teal (with purple highlights) would have been acceptable. So it’s hideous. But it’s also wonderful, because it’s an entirely teal building. Great backdrop for people shots, and quite geometrically simple and, well, nice at twilight.
