In a rather awesome follow-up to my previous post on Velvia, I got something cool today. I went to drop off a few rolls of (the old) Velvia for processing today at Citizen’s photo. I lamented that I was down to just a few rolls of (the old) Velvia and that they expire next month. The guy then actually gave me his only sample roll of the new Velvia! I know it’s photo-geeky but it totally made my day. Can hardly wait to try it out.
I’m not exactly sure when it hits the shelves, but I don’t think it will be too terribly long. In the next couple of months?
Sorry for the dreadful image quality–iPhone cameras suck, no matter what they try to tell you.

Have you tried Digital Velvia plugin for Photoshop? It’s by Fred Miranda software (ttp://www.fredmiranda.com/DV/index.html) I can unwaveringly recommend it. It is just amazingly in the color it turns out – and seems to really mimic the effect you get with your photos. I use it all the time and it’s worth the $29 or whatever he’s charging.
