Consumerism

I’m having the wildest, most busy few weeks of the year thus far. My blogging, and, even more so, my reading, have suffered.

I realized this weekend that I hadn’t been clothes shopping in, oh, two years, a decade, something like that. I am hopeless as fashion goes anyway, but it was getting dire, even by my standards.

A tad flush with a tad bit of cash from my car sale, I went on a mad flurry of consuming. This was likely not well-advised, but it is what it is.

BCBG was having one of those sales. One of those holy-damn sales that makes you do stupid things. Like this dress. It was $572, but then 70% off and then 15% off of that. What’s a girl going to do?

Right now it’s at Nordstrom’s being altered (I got to hang out in the Chanel dressing rooms waiting for the seamstress; very spacious). I’d like to note that even the model is wearing this dress with straps. I myself am having spaghetti straps added because, aherm, certain anatomical shortcomings prevent me from pulling of strapless dresses.

I also bought these things. Go figure.

Talk about juxtaposition.

Love the shoes! Well done. These three items would make quite the outfit.

You did the whole of womanhood proud. I officially feel fashion inadequate. In your shadow :)

im more interested in what you’ll be doing while wearing the helmet than while wearing the dress.

You spent more on a fock than I spent on my last car. Gotta admire that!

I meant a frock, not a fock…. god knows what a fock is.
