Things Going on Around Here

{ Life }

July 24, 2008

You may have noticed a startling lack of blogginess in the past ten days or so here. This is due to an abnormally staggering workload and some significant not-feeing-well-ing-ness late last week. Plus calculus, which seems to take about 50% of my free waking time.

Here are some recent developments:

  • It has ironically been a banner week for site traffic, despite the paucity of updates. My Oxford English Dictionary post has received 30000 views. Not shabby. Welcome new readers and sorry that my efforts of late have been weak. With luck, awesomeness will return.
  • I went with David to buy a new cowfish. I am pushing for the name “Helmet.”
  • I got the new iPhone. I won’t go into details because my story is no different than the eighty billion other “holy shit I got a new iPhone!” posts out there.
  • I changed my first diaper, possibly ever.
  • It’s been a weak month for reading. Salman Rushdie sucked me dry and I’ve been wallowing in Richard III and The Aeneid for ages.
  • Speaking of Shakespeare, as I sit and try to wrack myself for interesting anecdotal evidence that I lead an interesting life, I realize that my past couple of weeks of general busy-ness has been a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Beh.

While not OUR cowfish, our new cowfish looks like this (originally uploaded by <a href=
