What a Difference a Year Makes

{ Crohn's, Life }

This is for anyone who is languishing on steroids and is puffy or greasy or bloated or sad or sleepless or hopeless or mad. This is what I felt like on steroids, one year ago:

Seeing my friend Andy, with David, in the Produce Row, just about one year ago.

Granted, that is a particularly unflattering photo.

This one was taken yesterday:

So all of you on steroids: take hope. The days of heart-pounding sleeplessness and aggressive confusion are not permanent. The moonface thing goes away. The slimy feeling goes away.

I am so happy and glad to be past the steroid part of my life, at least for now.

    I was sure Christie’s comment was spam when it came in–I’ve never received a legitimate Russian comment before! My rusty translation is something along the lines of “The year notwithstanding, you appear beautiful inside and out.” The grammatical structure of the sentence is just weird enough to leave me curious as to where she got it. :)

  3. I’m super happy for you that you were able to move past the steroids. Amd look at you all happy like! :) Good shot by Mr Pencil, I presume?
