Mr. Pencil made me a mug. It is totally wonderful.
Take a peek: can you spot the pencil?
You can see Fishmael’s* new home in the background, and the flowers Aileen’s mom gave us to congratulate us on our new office (this is at work).
* Fishmael is my mascot. He’s a shiny blue betta fish. I’ve had him since May 2006. He’s a trooper!

I am so used to being near Mr. Pencil during the day, either
physically, or, more often, IM-ing-ly (and sometimes both: I’m too
lazy to get up, so I’ll IM him down the hall). So today he’s off on a
half-day work event and I am itching from it. I have become so
accustomed to dropping comments about, well, everything, minutiae, at
him, and I find it hard to do without!

My husband seems to have bought a car yesterday. From what I can tell from my library window, which overlooks Belmont, it appears to be a silver WRX wagon. Doting wife that I am, I haven’t actually gone outside to look at it. But it seems like a perfectly reasonable car.
He continues to do adorable things (the husband, that is) like boiling a single potato in a small saucepan. I don’t know why boiling a single, remarkably round Yukon Gold in a little pot by itself seems so cute, but it does.

In lame news, one: People have been driving 45-50MPH on the freeways all week. I know it’s the holidays, people, but hurry up already. Two: Some jerk pushed David’s motorcycle (parked next to our house) over, destroying the windshield and the left turn signal. Thanks, guys.
