Lyza Loop WordPress Plugin: FAQ

Learn More

What arguments does lyza_loop() take?
lyza_loop() takes a few of its own arguments, which are detailed on the documentation page. It also takes any argument that WordPress’ query_posts() function takes.

lyza_loop() takes arguments in WordPress’ standard tag parameter syntax.

No arguments are strictly required, but it is likely that you will be using the ‘template’ parameter a lot.

Can I use lyza_loop() multiple times on a page?
Of course! That’s almost the whole point!
Can I use lyza_loop() without actually displaying any posts?
Yes, though this is possibly pointless. Set the ‘use_template’ parameter to false. It will then simply return the matching post objects and “take note” of the posts in case you later want to display posts and make sure there are no repeats.
What do I have access to in my custom loop templates?
Does lyza_loop() work for pages as well as posts?
Totally.
How do I uninstall the Lyza Loop plugin?
Given how simple Lyza Loop is, a simple deactivation of the plugin (and removal of files, should you desire) should work just fine. You might consider deleting your custom loop templates, as well.
Where do I put custom loop templates?
See the Lyza Loop admin settings screen. You can set your own location there, but by default it is [your theme's directory]/loop_templates.
How will Lyza Loop “know” that my custom loop template is there?
Any PHP file in the directory indicated as the custom loop template location will be picked up automatically.
I see a shocking security hole/horrific programming gaffe/really obvious missing feature.
Please let me know, as calmly as possible.
Why did you call this plugin “Lyza Loop?” Are you some sort of narcissist?
I fretted over this. I tried to think of something less self-absorbed, but “WP-Custom-Loop” just doesn’t roll off the tongue. My first name had the bonuses of being both alliterative and unique.
